TYPO3 Is More Than a CMS
Building enterprise applications instead of just websites
TYPO3 is often seen purely as a CMS — but its architecture already provides many capabilities of a modern enterprise application platform. With T3ERP as a real-world example, this talk demonstrates how TYPO3 can be used to build complex business applications far beyond traditional website projects.
We will explore how TYPO3’s backend framework, permission system, localization, scheduler, routing, extensibility, and modular architecture make it possible to rapidly develop ERP-like systems and internal business tools. Instead of rebuilding infrastructure from scratch in generic frameworks, TYPO3 allows developers to focus primarily on business logic.
The session will also discuss the opportunities and limitations of using TYPO3 as an application framework, and why its future may extend far beyond the CMS space with which many developers still associate it.
