A Web for Everyone: Why Accessibility Is Not an Edge Case

A guided tour through BFSG, WCAG, and the accessible frontend stack.

Accessibility isn't an edge case - it's just users. Around 1.3 billion people worldwide live with a disability, and that's before you count anyone with a broken arm, a glare on their screen, or a baby in one hand. The web they get is the web we build.

This session is the big-picture tour: from the human side of accessibility, through the legal landscape and the W3C alphabet, into the frontend stack - HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ARIA and the related tools.

Broad on purpose, not a deep dive. Here you get the whole map in one go, so you walk out knowing how the pieces fit together and where to research for your own projects.

No prior accessibility knowledge needed.
